The value champion for pure monitoring. Sharp 2K video that beat almost every rival on clarity, colour night vision, pet detection and local microSD storage that avoids subscription fees. No treat dispenser, which is the only real omission.

Common questions

Does the Tapo C120 dispense treats?

No, it is a pure monitoring camera. If you want treat tossing, look at Furbo or Petcube. What it offers instead is much better video and a far lower price.

Are there subscription fees?

No. It records to a local microSD card, so you avoid the recurring cloud fees that some rivals charge. That is a big part of its value.

How good is the video?

Its 2K video was clearer than almost every camera on test, including far pricier models, which makes it superb value for monitoring.
