We earn through several affiliate programmes, which may include Amazon and direct programmes run by brands and through affiliate networks such as Awin and Impact. Which programme a given link uses depends on the product and where it offers the best result for the reader.

How this affects our reviews

It does not. Our scores come from our published scoring method, applied the same way to every product. A commercial relationship with a brand, or a higher commission on one product than another, never changes a score, a ranking or a recommendation. We rate products on the evidence. If the best product in a category pays us nothing, it still ranks first.

Why we use affiliate links at all

Affiliate commissions fund the research and writing and keep the site free to read, without intrusive advertising. We think it is the least compromising way to support honest, independent reviews, as long as it is disclosed clearly and never allowed to influence the verdict.
